Mr Ho Kwon Ping (“KP”) is Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings, which owns both listed and private companies engaged in the development, ownership and operation of hotels, resorts, spas, residential homes, retail galleries and other lifestyle activities in the region.

In addition to his commitment with Banyan Tree Holdings, KP is also Chairman of Singapore Management University, the third national university in Singapore; Chairman of MediaCorp Pte Ltd, the national television and radio company; member of Asia-Pacific Council of The Nature Conservancy; member of the Asia Regional Advisory Board of London Business School; member of the International Council of the Asia Society; member of the INSEAD International Council.

KP has been honoured with Innovation Award (HICAP, 2003), Travel Personality of the Year (Travel Trade Gazette Travel Awards, 2004), 100 Global Leaders for Tomorrow at the World Economic Forum (2005), and Business Week magazine's 25 Stars of Asia (2005). He was also bestowed the 2005 Entrepreneurship Award by the London Business School; Lifetime Achievement Award from the Advertising Hall of Fame Awards (2005); Lifestyle, Hospitality & Retail Entrepreneur of the Year from Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2006); CEO of the Year at the Singapore Corporate Awards 2008, and Hotelier of the Year at the Stylemaker Awards (2008).

KP was educated in Tunghai University, Taiwan, Stanford University, California, and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from the University of Singapore and an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration in Hospitality Management from Johnson & Wales University, United States of America.

He is married to Claire Chiang and has two sons and a daughter.
